I Encuentro Internacional de CeramicaFrom the 4th to 11th July a Japanese art extravaganza will be held in Nigran in the province of Pontevedra, Spain. On display demonstrations and exhibitions featuring the work of the following artists. Ikebana by Iesaka Ruriko, Porcelain by Uga Kazuko, Raku Tea Bowls by Sonobe Genya, Ceramic furniture by Ito Atsuko, "shodo" by Yoko Watanabe and an igneous intervention in a public space by yours truly. I will keep you posted if interested in participating. It is hard to believe that we were in Nigran almosy two months ago. The event was a smashing succes to such an extent that the organizers and Nigran Town Council want to repeat the whole experience with exactly the same team next year. The results were superb given the fact that we had to install kilns outside. A million thanks to Emilai Guimerans and Miquel Vazquez plus the team of volunyteers, the sponsors and Nigran Town Council. The exhibition was a sell out and the memories left make us all feel we lived in a dream. We are all looking forward to the next time in Tierras Gallegas. Oh a big thanks to Mucha and Gonzalo that kept us fed on really delicious home cooking in their restaurant. Nigran is a holiday resort and a well kept secret! 05/07/2004
